EU Active Substance Approvals

Which substances the European Union has approved for plant protection use — and which it has not.

Approval of an active substance is not authorisation of any product containing it, and a product authorised in one country is not authorised in another. The two decisions are made by different authorities under different law.

The EU Pesticides Database publishes no release version or dataset date. The version recorded here is the date the list was read, and it is NOT a publisher release identifier.

Substance decisions are taken at different levels. The European Union approves active substances for the whole Union; Australia approves active constituents nationally. They are separate decisions by separate authorities and are never combined.
