Climate: Hot all year (every month ≥ 18 °C) with heavy rainfall in every month and no dry season.
Growing period: Continuous warmth allows year-round growth; light and waterlogging, not temperature, often limit cropping.
Soils & vegetation: Deeply weathered, often acidic and low-fertility soils under rainforest.
Agricultural relevance: Perennial tropical crops (cocoa, oil palm, rubber, banana) and shifting cultivation dominate; grain storage is difficult in constant humidity.
Where it occurs: Amazon and Congo basins, insular Southeast Asia.
Classification: Köppen-Geiger (Kottek et al. 2006; Beck et al. 2018)
